Tidepools thrives on community collaboration. For more than sixty years, the magazine has celebrated the art, writing, photography, and music of the North Olympic Peninsula — and it continues to grow thanks to the creativity and dedication of Peninsula College students and local partners.
Whether you’re a student, artist, educator, or community leader, there are many ways to contribute to the Tidepools tradition.
For PC Students: Join the Editorial Team
Are you interested in publishing, editing, art, or creative writing? You can help produce the next issue of Tidepools by enrolling in our Tidepools Production course:
These courses offer hands-on experience in editing, layout, design, event planning, and community outreach. Students work collaboratively to review submissions, design pages, and organize the annual launch celebration.
No prior experience is required — just a love for creativity and collaboration!
Talk to your advisor or email dfrank@pencol.edu to learn more about enrolling.
Serve as a Contest Judge
Each year, Tidepools honors outstanding local creativity through cash prizes and publication in the annual issue. Our judging panel is made up of respected community members, educators, and artists who bring diverse perspectives to the selection process.
If you have experience in the arts and would like to help recognize emerging voices, we’d love to hear from you.
