Only residents of Clallam and Jefferson Counties are eligible to submit creative work to Tidepools Magazine. Adult entries to the contest are $6.50 and Youth entries are $4.00. This year PC student entries into the contest are free.

Anyone can submit work to the magazine for free by submitting under “non-contest”.

There are two ways to submit your work:

Deadline: all entries must be submitted or postmarked by Friday, January 12th, 2018.  All entries not submitted by e-mail should be accompanied by an entry form.


Rules / Guidelines:

  • Music must be original / no covers.
  • Music can be submitted via  MP3  on Submitable or a CD can be mailed in.
  • If mailing, include entry form with CD, and label CD with your name and title of work.

Written Work

  • Prose and Poetry must be typed.
  • Prose must be double spaced and 3000 words or less.
  • Your name should not appear on or in the work.
  • If mailing, include entry form with written work.

Art and Photography

  • All media are eligible: 2D, 3D, color, black and white, etc.
  • High quality photos of artwork may be submitted.
  • We can photgraph most artworks for you if you are unable and can deliver the original to room C-211 on the main campus.
  • Must not be framed if hand delivered (as art under glass does not photograph well).
  • Digital photography must have a resolution of at least 300 dpi. Files must be in .JPG format.
  • For publication we prefer (and sometimes require) images that are 1 MB or larger.
  • Names on back of art work only.
  • If mailing, include entry form with written work.
